Field ownership
Fields are either user-owned or system-owned.
User-owned fields are authored by the issuer and define the disclosure's content. System-owned fields are generated by the system and appear verbatim in the issued disclosure.
System-owned fields cannot be edited by the user.
Why ownership matters
Field ownership helps a reader understand which parts of the document express issuer intent and which parts express system-issued metadata or fixed text.

User-owned fields carry the issuer's declarations and choices. System-owned fields stabilize the format, issuance details, and fixed phrasing needed to keep documents consistent.
